Splendour School was established in Jan 1987 with very humble beginnings in a small city called Kharagpur in West Bengal. The school caters to children from kindergarten right through to the 12th grade and has a student body of eight hundred and sixty. It is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examiniations – New Delhi (ICSE & ISC Board – WB168).
With the bounty of God, the school has grown from strength to strength becoming a major means of socio-economic development. As the name suggests, it is a Bahá’í inspired school endeavoring to render holistic education to individuals from every facet of life. The school is situated in Salua (Kharagpur) and has greatly contributed to the development of the area and has had a positive impact on the families of the school students overall.
A lot of effort and care is taken to tailor the best curriculum and the students are showered with a lot of attention with emphasis on academic and moral excellence. The school strives to make every child “the light of the world” and “a self motivated agent of social change”. Among its many achievements, the school has been successful in launching Junior Youth Empowerment Programs with its focus being on the age groups from 11 to 15. This has enhanced the students’ power of speech and expression and has in turn had a positive impact on their academic and family life making families more aware of the importance of value education and its implications. There is a new found confidence instilled in the children and thus increased participation in inter-school events like debates, elocutions, exhibitions, extempore events etc.
